Home Garden Goals for 2022

Yes! The seed catalogs are arriving and the dreaming and planning can now begin in earnest.  So many beautiful photos of exotic looking vegetables and flowers. So many options. Where do you begin?

If this sounds familiar to you it’s okay. Gardening is a task so full of hope and optimism that your excitement is warranted, however, the overwhelm can also be a factor. Here is my advice to you based on my experience and observation. 

Plant what you and your family like to eat. It is that simple. 

Look at your favorite recipes for inspiration before you place your seed order. What do you like to cook and what does your family like to eat? Don’t forget the beverages. Lemonade with strawberry and basil or ice tea with mint from your garden will be amazing in the summer. 

Focus on what you are familiar with as a start and then fill in your open areas with new possibilities. Maybe that new plant from seed will become a “must have” family favorite next year.
